The Nevada Affidavit of Attempted Service is a legal document used to prove that a party has attempted to serve papers upon another party, such as a summons, complaint, or other court documents. The Affidavit is typically filed with the court to provide proof of service for the attempted service of process. This affidavit is used when service of process has been attempted but not completed. There are two types of Nevada Affidavit of Attempted Service: Personal Service and Substituted Service. Personal Service is when a process server attempts to personally serve the defendant with court papers. This must be done in accordance with Nevada law, and the process server must provide proof of attempted service by completing an Affidavit of Attempted Service. Substituted Service is when service of process is attempted and the defendant is not personally served. This is typically done by leaving a copy of the documents with someone of suitable age and discretion at the defendant's residence or place of employment. The process server must also make five attempts at service in five consecutive days and must provide proof of attempted service by completing an Affidavit of Attempted Service.
