A Nevada Sample Joint Preliminary Injunction (CPI) is a document issued by a court that requires both parties involved in a dispute to refrain from certain actions and to refrain from engaging in certain activities. It is used to prevent further harm or to stop a party from taking certain actions that could jeopardize the rights of the other party. The document typically contains directives that both parties must abide by until a final ruling is issued. This includes, but is not limited to, staying away from each other, refraining from any communication with each other, refraining from using any kind of force, threats, or violence against the other party, refraining from damaging or destroying any property, and refraining from harassing, stalking, or cyberbullying the other party. There are two different types of Nevada Sample Joint Preliminary Injunctions: Temporary Injunctions and Permanent Injunctions. Temporary Injunctions are issued when the court feels it is necessary to protect the rights of one party before a final ruling is made. Permanent Injunctions are issued after a final ruling and are meant to remain in place until the dispute is resolved. In addition to the directives listed above, a Nevada Sample Joint Preliminary Injunction will also contain information about the parties involved in the dispute, the legal basis for the injunction, and any additional orders that the court deems necessary.
