Nevada Suggestion of Death is a legal concept that allows for the termination of life-sustaining medical treatment for terminally ill patients. It is sometimes referred to as Physician Assisted Death (PAD) or Aid in Dying, and is legally recognized in the state of Nevada. The Nevada Suggestion of Death allows for a patient to make an informed decision to voluntarily end their lives in a humane and dignified manner, with the assistance of a physician. The patient must be 18 years of age or older, terminally ill, and have the capacity to make an informed decision. There are two types of Nevada Suggestion of Death: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary Suggestion of Death is when a patient requests medical aid in dying from their physician, and the physician assists in the process. Involuntary Suggestion of Death is when a patient’s physician or family members make the decision to end the patient’s life, without the patient’s consent.
