Nevada Temporary Merchant Application (Teas) are a type of state-issued license that allows businesses to engage in short-term retail activity in Nevada. The Nevada Department of Taxation issues temporary merchant certificates to companies that wish to do business in the state of Nevada for a limited period of time. Teas are intended to provide a way for businesses to test the market without having to obtain a regular business license. There are two main types of Nevada Temporary Merchant Applications: Intrastate and Interstate. Intrastate Teas are for businesses that are located in Nevada and only conduct business within the state. Interstate Teas are for businesses that are located outside of Nevada and plan to conduct business within the state. Both types of Teas allow businesses to engage in short-term retail activity in Nevada for up to 90 days.
