Nevada Application — Domestic Violence is a form used in the State of Nevada to apply for a Protective Order against a person who has committed domestic violence against the petitioner. It is a civil court order that can offer protection and relief from further abuse, harassment, and/or threats of violence. The Nevada Application — Domestic Violence can be used by an adult who is or has been in a domestic relationship with the abuser or by a minor's parent or guardian. There are three different types of Nevada Application — Domestic Violence: Emergency Protective Orders, Temporary Protective Orders, and Permanent Protective Orders. An Emergency Protective Order is issued ex parte (without the abuser being present) and is effective immediately upon service. A Temporary Protective Order is issued after a hearing and is effective for up to 35 days. Lastly, a Permanent Protective Order is issued after a hearing, and is effective for up to one year.
