The Nevada Emancipation Checklist is a list of documents and information needed to legally emancipate a minor in the state of Nevada. The checklist includes two types of emancipation checklists: the Standard Emancipation Checklist and the Special Circumstance Emancipation Checklist. The Standard Emancipation Checklist includes a minor's birth certificate, a written consent from the minor's parent/guardian, a written consent from both legal parents if applicable, a Third Party Custody Agreement if applicable, and a completed emancipation petition. The Special Circumstance Emancipation Checklist is used when a minor is emancipated without consent from the parent/guardian, or when the parent/guardian is not able to provide consent. This checklist includes the same documents as the Standard Emancipation Checklist, in addition to an affidavit from the minor that they are legally emancipated and a court order granting the emancipation. Both checklists are designed to provide the necessary documents to prove that the minor is legally emancipated in the state of Nevada.
