Nevada C-1 Conversion to Joint Petition Without Children is a process whereby two individuals who have already filed a separate C-1 Petition for Divorce in Nevada convert that filing to a joint petition for divorce without children. This joint petition for divorce without children is also referred to as an uncontested divorce in Nevada. The conversion process involves the filing of an updated C-1 Petition for Divorce which reflects the spouses' agreement on all issues related to the divorce, such as property division, alimony and/or spousal support, and other matters. The filing of this joint petition without children eliminates the need for a trial and allows the couple to obtain a divorce in a more expedient and cost-effective manner. Furthermore, the joint petition without children may be filed by either spouse without the assistance of an attorney. There are two types of Nevada C-1 Conversion to Joint Petition Without Children: (1) Joint Petition Without Children with a Waiver of Service, and (2) Joint Petition Without Children with Personal Service. The Joint Petition Without Children with a Waiver of Service requires both spouses to sign a waiver of service form, which waives their right to be personally served with the petition. On the other hand, the Joint Petition Without Children with Personal Service requires one spouse to serve the petition on the other.
