A Nevada Affidavit of Service is a document used in the state of Nevada to serve legal documents and to prove that legal documents were served. It is also known as a proof of service. There are three types of Nevada Affidavit of Service: personal service, substituted service, and service by mail. Personal service is when an individual personally delivers the documents to the party to be served, and the Affidavit of Service is signed by the person who served the documents. Substituted service is when an individual delivers the documents to a person of suitable age and discretion at the residence or place of business of the party to be served, and the Affidavit of Service is signed by the person who served the documents. Service by mail is when the documents are sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, or by registered mail, and the Affidavit of Service is signed by the sender.
