A Nevada Certificate of Correction (NRS78.0295) is a document issued by the Nevada Secretary of State that corrects an error in a document that has already been filed with the office. The Certificate of Correction is used to make changes to the name of the business, the address, the date of formation, or other details of the document. There are two types of Nevada Certificate of Correction: (1) a Certificate of Change, and (2) a Certificate of Cancellation. A Certificate of Change is used to make changes to a document that has already been filed with the office, such as correcting a typo or adding the name of a partner or member, while a Certificate of Cancellation is used to cancel a document that was erroneously filed with the office. Both types of Certificates of Correction must include the original document being corrected, and the corrected document.
