Nevada (87A) Foreign Limited Partnership Registration (NRS CHAPTER87A) is a process that allows foreign limited partnerships to register in Nevada. In order to register, the partnership must appoint a registered agent in the state of Nevada as well as file a Certificate of Registration with the Nevada Secretary of State. Additionally, the partnership must provide certain information including the name of the partnership, the date of formation, the address of the partnership, and the name and address of the registered agent. Once the registration is complete, the partnership will gain the same rights and privileges as domestic limited partnerships operating in Nevada. There are two types of Nevada (87A) Foreign Limited Partnership Registration (NRS CHAPTER87A): an Initial Registration, and an Amendment Registration. An Initial Registration is used when the foreign limited partnership is registering for the first time in Nevada, while an Amendment Registration is used to make changes to an existing registration.
