The Nevada Affidavit of Service is a document used by the court and other individuals to certify that service of process has been made upon a party in a legal action. It is a sworn statement by the person who served the documents (the “server”) that they delivered the documents to the recipient as required by law. The Affidavit of Service contains information such as the date and time of service, the name of the recipient, the type of documents served, and the method of service. There are three types of Nevada Affidavit of Service: Personal Service, Substituted Service, and Service by Publication. Personal Service occurs when the server delivers the documents directly to the recipient. Substituted Service occurs when the recipient cannot be found and the server delivers the documents to someone with whom the recipient has a relationship. Service by Publication occurs when service is attempted by publishing the documents in a newspaper or other public medium.
