New York Railroad Car Application (Form: 250 -rev022511) is an application form issued by the New York State Department of Transportation (NOT). It is used by railroads and other entities to request and obtain approval to use New York State Railroads for the transportation of freight and/or passengers. The form is divided into three parts: Part A: Application for Permission to Operate on New York Railroads; Part B: Supporting Documents; and Part C: Additional Information. Part A requires the applicant to provide basic information about the railroad, its operations, and the proposed use of the New York State Railroads. Part B requires the applicant to provide supporting documents such as a copy of the railroad’s operating authority; certificates of insurance; and other documents as needed. Part C requires the applicant to provide additional information such as a description of the railroad’s operations; a list of equipment; and any other information related to the operations of the railroad. Once the application is completed, it must be submitted to the NOT for review and approval before the railroad can use the New York State Railroads. Once approved, the railroad will be issued a permit to operate on the New York State Railroads.
