Administrative Order re Mandatory Mediation Pilot Project The New York Administrative Order re Mandatory Mediation Pilot Project is an initiative of the New York State Unified Court System that seeks to encourage the resolution of civil court cases through mediation. The project began in January 2019 and is set to run until December 2021. The project applies to civil court cases in the Supreme Court, the Civil Court of the City of New York, the Surrogate's Court, and the Family Court of the City of New York. It requires that all parties in a civil court case participate in mandatory mediation before the case is heard by a judge.
