New York Poor Person's Relief (CIV-GP-15) is a program administered by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (TDA) to help individuals and families with limited resources to meet their basic needs. This program is available to persons who have exhausted all other forms of public assistance, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANK), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Medicaid. The program provides financial assistance for a variety of needs, including rent, utilities, clothing, and food. There are two types of New York Poor Person's Relief (CIV-GP-15): Emergency Assistance and Ongoing Assistance. Emergency Assistance is available for short-term, one-time needs, such as food, clothing, and medical care. Ongoing Assistance provides a regular payment to meet basic needs, such as rent and utilities, for up to three months. Eligibility for the program is based on an individual's financial situation and the availability of other resources.
