New York LMREAP-SEB (Leadership and Management Recruitment and Employment Assistance Program-Special Education Bureau) is a program designed to increase leadership and management capacity within New York City’s public schools. The program provides a comprehensive, competency-based approach to certify, hire, and support new school leaders and managers. It is a partnership between the New York City Department of Education (DOE), local school districts, and private funders to recruit, hire, train, and retain highly qualified and diverse school leaders and managers. The program consists of three main components: • Recruitment and Selection: A rigorous recruitment and selection process that identifies and screens potential school leaders and managers. • Training and Development: A comprehensive training and development program that provides school leaders and managers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully lead their schools. • Retention and Leadership Development: A support and development system that encourages and supports school leaders and managers in their growth and development. The program also offers two additional services, Mentoring and Coaching, which provide additional support and guidance to school leaders and managers in their professional roles. New York LMREAP-SEB is designed to help create a culture of excellence in New York City’s public schools.
