The New York International Registration Plan (IRP) is a program that allows interstate motor carriers to register their vehicles in multiple jurisdictions and receive one registration and one license plate. The system simplifies the registration process and reduces the paperwork and fees associated with registering vehicles in multiple states. Schedule A of the IRP is for motor carriers who operate two or more vehicles in two or more member jurisdictions. This schedule allows the motor carrier to register all of their vehicles with one registration, which is good in all member jurisdictions. Schedule C of the IRP is for motor carriers who operate one or two vehicles in two or more member jurisdictions. This schedule allows the motor carrier to register one or two vehicles in multiple jurisdictions without having to pay any additional fees or taxes. There are two types of New York International Registration Plan Schedule A & C: IRP Standard and IRP Non-Standard. The IRP Standard plan is for motor carriers who operate two or more vehicles in two or more member jurisdictions, while the IRP Non-Standard plan is for motor carriers who operate one or two vehicles in two or more member jurisdictions.
