The New York Certification of Supervised Driving (C.O.S.D) is a program developed by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. It provides a process to certify that a teen driver has completed the necessary supervised driving hours required by the state. The C.O.S.D program requires teens to log 50 hours of supervised driving, 10 of which must be done at night, and submit the signed log to the DMV for approval before being eligible for a driver’s license.
