The New York Arbitrators Oath Or Affirmation (Attorney) is an oath or affirmation taken by an attorney who has been appointed as an arbitrator for a dispute in the state of New York. This oath or affirmation is taken to signify that the attorney has been selected to serve as an impartial decision maker and will faithfully and honestly discharge the duties of the role. This oath or affirmation must be taken before the attorney can be appointed to the role of arbitrator. There are two types of New York Arbitrators Oath Or Affirmation (Attorney): 1. The Standard Arbitrators Oath Or Affirmation: This oath or affirmation is taken by attorneys who are appointed as arbitrators and who have no prior experience in the field of arbitration. It includes statements such as, “I swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully and honestly discharge my duties as an arbitrator, without fear or favor, and in accordance with the provisions of the law.” 2. The Special Arbitrators Oath Or Affirmation: This oath or affirmation is taken by attorneys who have prior experience in the field of arbitration. It includes statements such as, “I swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully and honestly discharge my duties as an arbitrator, and in accordance with the provisions of the law, I will exercise my best knowledge and skill in the conduct of the arbitration proceedings.”
