New York Light Vehicle Inspection Checklist is a comprehensive list of safety requirements and standards that must be met in order for a light vehicle to be registered in the state of New York. The checklist includes standards for brake systems, steering systems, suspension systems, exhaust systems, lighting systems, tires, and other components and systems. It also covers safety equipment, such as seat belts, airbags, and headlights. Depending on the type of vehicle, additional requirements may be applicable. There are two types of New York Light Vehicle Inspection Checklist: the On-Road Safety Inspection and the Off-Road Safety Inspection. The On-Road Safety Inspection is required for all vehicles registered in the state of New York and covers the above-mentioned components. The Off-Road Safety Inspection is for vehicles not registered in the state of New York and covers the same components as the On-Road Safety Inspection, but with more stringent standards and additional requirements.
