A New York Affidavit is a legal document used in the state of New York. It is a written statement or declaration made under oath in front of an authorized official, such as a Notary Public, where the signer swears that the contents of the document are true and correct. The most common type of New York Affidavit is a General Affidavit, which is used for a variety of purposes. This form is used to provide sworn testimony in court, to prove legal ownership of property or to establish a legal relationship between two parties. Other types of New York Affidavit include an Affidavit of Service, an Affidavit of Support, an Affidavit of Identity, an Affidavit of Warship, an Affidavit of Domicile and an Affidavit of Residence. These documents are used for specific purposes, such as proving service of process, establishing financial support, verifying identity or establishing legal connections between family members.
