Oklahoma QUASI- CONTRACT (QUANTUM MERUIT OR QUANTUM VALIANT) is a type of contract in which a person receives fair compensation for services rendered even without an explicit contractual agreement. This type of contract is often used when one party has provided a service or goods without any prior agreement or expectation of payment. In Oklahoma, there are two types of quasi-contracts: quantum meruit and quantum valiant. Quantum meruit is a type of quasi-contract where a person is entitled to fair payment for services rendered in a reasonable amount. Under this type of contract, the person providing the services is not required to prove that the services were actually performed in exchange for the payment. This type of contract is often used when a contract has not been established prior to the services being rendered. Quantum valiant is the second type of quasi-contract recognized in Oklahoma. This type of contract is similar to quantum meruit, but instead of being based on the amount of services rendered, it is based on the value of the services provided. In this type of contract, the person receiving the payment must prove that the services provided were of value and that they are entitled to fair payment. In both cases, quasi-contracts are used to ensure that the person providing services or goods is fairly compensated, even if there is no explicit agreement in place.
