Oklahoma Resisting a Peace or Executive Officer-Introduction is a process where a person who is suspected of a crime is arrested. This process usually begins with a law enforcement officer informing the suspect that they are under arrest and providing them with an explanation of the charges against them. The officer will then read them their rights and ask them if they understand them. If the suspect does not comply with the officer's instructions, they may be charged with resisting a peace or executive officer-introduction. There are two types of Oklahoma Resisting a Peace or Executive Officer-Introduction: misdemeanor and felony. Misdemeanor resisting a peace or executive officer-introduction is a minor offense and is punishable by a fine, jail time, or both. Felony resisting a peace or executive officer-introduction is a more serious offense and is punishable by jail time and/or a significant fine. In either case, the suspect can face additional charges for resisting arrest.
