An Oklahoma Notice of Appeal is a document filed by a party to a case to initiate the appeal process in the Oklahoma court system. In Oklahoma, appeals are heard by the Court of Civil Appeals or the Supreme Court. The Notice of Appeal serves to notify the court of the appellant’s intent to appeal the decision of the lower court. The Notice of Appeal must contain the name of the appellant and the name of the court from which the appeal is taken. It must also include the name and address of the trial court and the name of the judge who issued the decision being appealed. The Notice of Appeal must state the grounds on which the appeal is based, the date of the judgment or appealable order from which the appeal is taken, and the names of all parties to the case. There are two types of Oklahoma Notices of Appeal: a Notice of Appeal from a trial court and a Notice of Appeal from an administrative agency. The Notice of Appeal from a trial court must be filed in the trial court within thirty days of the final judgment or order. The Notice of Appeal from an administrative agency must be filed with the agency within thirty days of the final decision of the agency.
