Oklahoma Authorized Representative Designation is a process by which a person or entity is authorized to represent another in legal proceedings in the state of Oklahoma. The authorized representative is typically appointed by the individual or entity that is being represented, and is typically an attorney, a law firm, or an individual with legal experience. The representative must be an Oklahoma resident or have a valid Oklahoma attorney license, and must be in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association. There are two types of Oklahoma Authorized Representative Designation: General and Limited. General Designation allows an individual to represent another in all legal proceedings in Oklahoma, while Limited Designation allows an individual to only represent another in certain specific types of proceedings. Both the Representative and the person or entity they are representing must sign an agreement that outlines the scope of the representation and any applicable fees. Once the paperwork is signed and submitted to the court, the Oklahoma Authorized Representative Designation is in effect.
