Oregon Notice of Appeal (Civil) is a legal document required by the Oregon Supreme Court to be filed in the circuit court when appealing a civil case. The Notice of Appeal must include the name of the party appealing, the name of the court from which the appeal is taken, the case number, the name of the judged from the lower court, and the date of the judge's decision. The Notice of Appeal is used to initiate the appeals process and to bring the case to the attention of the higher court. Once the Notice is filed, the appellant (the party filing the appeal) must also file a brief or memorandum of points and authorities that outlines the legal arguments the appellant wishes to make.
