Oregon Treatment Court Order Conditional Discharge is a court-ordered treatment program that provides an alternative to jail time for individuals facing criminal charges. The program helps individuals address the root cause of their criminal behavior, such as substance abuse, mental health issues, and/or trauma, and offers support and accountability to help them stay out of the criminal justice system. The program requires participants to enter a plea of guilty or no contest and agree to abide by certain conditions, including court-ordered treatment, regular court appearances, and other community-based supervision. The court will monitor the progress of the participant and, upon successful completion of the program, dismiss the charges with a conditional discharge. There are three types of conditional discharge in Oregon: Drug Court Order Conditional Discharge, Mental Health Court Order Conditional Discharge, and Veteran’s Court Order Conditional Discharge.
