Oregon Family Generic Motion and Order (OF GMO) is a document used in family law proceedings that allows parties to address issues related to parenting, support, and other matters in a family law case. The OF GMO provides a framework to allow parties to request a court order or plan for the resolution of disputes related to the family. It outlines what parties can and cannot do, provides for the exchange of information and documents, sets deadlines for filing documents, and outlines the duties of the parties. The OF GMO can be used in a variety of family law cases, including dissolution of marriage (divorce), parenting plans, support orders, and child custody matters. The OF GMO has four types: Child Custody and Parenting Time; Child Support; Spousal Support; and Property Division. Each type includes specific instructions, forms, and language that must be used in the motion and order. The language must be specific and precise to ensure that the order is enforceable and that the parties understand their obligations. The OF GMO also includes a checklist of items that should be included in the motion and order, as well as instructions for filing the motion and order.
