Oregon Renews a Restraining Order (ROR) is a process by which individuals in the state of Oregon can file a request to extend a current court-ordered restraining order. This process is designed to provide protection for victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. There are three types of Oregon Ross: Ex Parte Restraining Order, Temporary Restraining Order, and Permanent Restraining Order. An Ex Parte Restraining Order is issued when there is imminent danger and is effective for 14 days. A Temporary Restraining Order is issued when there is a need for additional protection and is active for 1 year. A Permanent Restraining Order is intended to provide long-term protection and is effective for 5 years. The Renewal a Restraining Order process begins by completing an Oregon Renew a Restraining Order form and filing it with the local courthouse. The form must include information about the current restraining order, the grounds for renewal, and an explanation of why the protective order should remain in effect. A judge must then review the request and decide whether to renew the restraining order. The court may also schedule a hearing to further examine the request. If the judge agrees to renew the order, the petitioner will be issued a new restraining order.
