Oregon Prejudgment Status Quo Order is an order issued by a court in Oregon to ensure that both parties involved in a legal dispute maintain the same status quo, or existing conditions, until a final decision is made. This order can be issued in divorce and family law cases, probate and trust cases, landlord-tenant cases, juvenile matters, and other types of civil cases. It is intended to prevent one of the parties from taking any action to change the status quo in the case before a final judgment is made. The two types of Oregon Prejudgment Status Quo Orders are General Orders and Specific Orders. A General Order is a broad order that applies to both parties, while a Specific Order applies to one or more specific issues in the case. The court can also order security or a bond to be posted to ensure that the order is followed. If either party fails to comply with the order, they can be held in contempt of court.
