Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation (OCD) is a legal document issued by the Oregon State Bar (OSB), which allows non-lawyers to prepare legal documents for the public. The OCD is required for individuals who provide document preparation services in Oregon and wish to be recognized as a professional. OCD holders must abide by all applicable Oregon laws and OSB regulations. There are two types of Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation: Limited and General. Limited OCD's are for document preparers who are qualified to prepare documents only in areas related to family law, such as divorce, adoption, guardianship, and child support. General OCD's are for document preparers who are qualified to prepare documents in all areas of law. Both types of OCD's require successful completion of an OSB-approved training program.
