Oregon Fast Track Adoption Checklist (ORS 419B.529) is a set of required steps to complete an adoption in Oregon. The checklist consists of three parts: the Readoption Information and Education Course, the Readoption Home Study, and the Finalization of Adoption. The Readoption Information and Education Course is an online course that covers topics such as Oregon adoption laws, legal rights and responsibilities of the adoptive family, the rights of the adopted, adoptive parenting, and foster care. The Readoption Home Study is an in-person evaluation of the adoptive family conducted by a licensed social worker. The home study assesses the family’s readiness to adopt and evaluates the home environment to ensure it is safe and suitable for the child. The Finalization of Adoption is the completion of the adoption process. This includes the filing of legal paperwork, court appearances, and the issuance of a final adoption decree. Oregon Fast Track Adoption Checklist (ORS 419B.529) is required for all adoptions in Oregon and must be completed before the adoption can be finalized.
