The Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation is a certification program that recognizes the skills and knowledge of professionals who provide document preparation services to clients in the state of Oregon. It is designed to ensure that document preparation services are provided in a legal and ethical manner and that clients are properly represented in court proceedings. There are two types of Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation: the Standard Certificate and the Advanced Certificate. The Standard Certificate is designed for document preparation professionals who have completed a minimum of five hours of training in Oregon document preparation law and procedure and who have passed a comprehensive written examination. The Advanced Certificate is designed for experienced document preparation professionals who have five or more years of experience in the field, have completed at least ten hours of training in Oregon document preparation law and procedure, and have passed a comprehensive written examination. Those who have obtained an Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation are recognized as qualified to provide services such as legal document review, drafting and review of pleadings and legal documents, preparation of court forms, and assistance in filing legal documents.
