Oregon Instructions are legal instructions that are issued by the Oregon Supreme Court and the Oregon Court of Appeals. These instructions are given to the lower courts in Oregon to help guide them on how to apply the law to the facts of a particular case. They are used to determine the outcome of the case and serve as a sort of guide for the lower courts. There are two types of Oregon Instructions: jury instructions and nonjury instructions. Jury instructions provide guidance to juries on how to evaluate evidence and decide on the verdict of a case. Nonjury instructions provide guidance to the court on how to apply the law to the facts of a case. In addition, Oregon Instructions also provide suggested forms of orders, judgments, and decrees.
