Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation (6A) is a certificate issued by the Oregon State Bar that allows non-attorneys to provide document preparation services. It is a legal document that allows individuals to provide services such as drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents, as well as providing related services such as filing documents with the court. Oregon has two types of Certificate of Document Preparation (6A): the Standard Certificate, and the Limited Certificate. The Standard Certificate allows for the preparation of most legal documents, while the Limited Certificate allows for the preparation of fewer documents and does not allow for the filing of documents with the court. In order to obtain a Certificate of Document Preparation (6A), applicants must complete an approved course of instruction and pass an Oregon State Bar-administered exam.
