Upper Extremity Range of Motion Deformity/Deviation Amputation and Sensation
Oregon Upper Extremity Range of Motion Deformity/Deviation Amputation and Sensation (OVERSEAS) is a condition that affects the range of motion, deformity, deviation, and sensation of the upper limb. It is typically caused by a traumatic injury, such as an amputation. The condition can lead to decreased range of motion, muscle weakness, joint instability, and decreased sensation. There are four types of ONE RADAR: 1. Range of Motion Deformity/Deviation (ROAD): This is a decrease in the range of motion of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and/or fingers. It can lead to loss of function, pain, and/or decreased sensation. 2. Amputation: This is the surgical removal of a limb, usually due to a traumatic injury. It can lead to loss of function, pain, and/or decreased sensation. 3. Sensation Impairment: This is a decrease in the ability to feel temperature, texture, or pressure. It can lead to loss of function, pain, and/or decreased sensation. 4. Joint Instability: This is an increased risk of dislocation or subluxation of the joints due to weakened ligaments and/or muscles. It can lead to loss of function, pain, and/or decreased sensation. OVERSEAS can cause significant functional limitations and can have a significant impact on an individual’s quality of life. TreatmenfondueURADARAS typically involves physical therapy, orthotics, and/or surgery.
