Response To Issues
Oregon Response To Issues is an initiative by the State of Oregon to identify, address, and respond to emerging issues in the state. This initiative is made up of a series of programs and initiatives designed to engage citizens, businesses, government, and the nonprofit sector in understanding, addressing, and solving current and emerging issues. The initiative is overseen by the Oregon Response To Issues Steering Committee, which is composed of both state and local government agency representatives. The Oregon Response To Issues initiative focuses on three key areas: building public engagement, developing innovative solutions, and implementing sustainable practices. Through these three areas, the initiative aims to help Oregonians take action to prevent and address issues related to the environment, economy, and public health and safety. The initiative also includes a series of specific programs and initiatives. These include the Oregon Climate Action Plan, a statewide strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; the Oregon Disaster Response Program, a program to help Oregon communities respond to natural disasters; the Oregon Healthy Living Initiative, a program to promote healthy lifestyle choices; and the Oregon Renewable Energy Initiative, a program to help Oregon communities transition to renewable energy sources. The initiative also includes a series of public engagement activities, such as the Oregon Response To Issues Summit, an annual event to bring together Oregonians to discuss and develop solutions to current and emerging issues; the Oregon Response To Issues Hub, an online platform to connect Oregonians with resources, tools, and information; and the Oregon Response To Issues Network, a network of organizations, businesses, and individuals dedicated to addressing Oregon’s most pressing issues.
