Response To Issues

Oregon Response To Issues is an initiative by the State of Oregon to identify, address, and respond to emerging issues in the state. This initiative is made up of a series of programs and initiatives designed to engage citizens, businesses, government, and the nonprofit sector in understanding, addressing, and solving current and emerging issues. The initiative is overseen by the Oregon Response To Issues Steering Committee, which is composed of both state and local government agency representatives. The Oregon Response To Issues initiative focuses on three key areas: building public engagement, developing innovative solutions, and implementing sustainable practices. Through these three areas, the initiative aims to help Oregonians take action to prevent and address issues related to the environment, economy, and public health and safety. The initiative also includes a series of specific programs and initiatives. These include the Oregon Climate Action Plan, a statewide strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; the Oregon Disaster Response Program, a program to help Oregon communities respond to natural disasters; the Oregon Healthy Living Initiative, a program to promote healthy lifestyle choices; and the Oregon Renewable Energy Initiative, a program to help Oregon communities transition to renewable energy sources. The initiative also includes a series of public engagement activities, such as the Oregon Response To Issues Summit, an annual event to bring together Oregonians to discuss and develop solutions to current and emerging issues; the Oregon Response To Issues Hub, an online platform to connect Oregonians with resources, tools, and information; and the Oregon Response To Issues Network, a network of organizations, businesses, and individuals dedicated to addressing Oregon’s most pressing issues.

FAQ

This type of modification starts with a motion called an Ex Parte Motion for Order to Show Cause re: Judgment Modification and Declaration in Support. This Motion tells the court what you want. It ends with a Supplemental Judgment. The Judgment contains the changes that the court makes to your old judgment.

Will it take me long to get a divorce? An uncontested divorce (where you and your spouse agree about the terms of the divorce) can be final about three months after the divorce petition is filed and delivered to your spouse. You may be able to reduce this time if the judge thinks you have a very good reason.

While Oregon used to have a 90-day waiting period in place, the state no longer imposes this requirement. Even though there is no time frame imposed to divorce once the papers are filed and served, it is important to note that the respondent spouse has 30 days to answer the divorce petition.

If the children are in immediate danger, you can file a motion for an Order of Immediate Danger and Temporary Custody and Parenting Time. Go to .courts.oregon.gov for those forms. A Status Quo Order will keep the children's schedules the same as they have been for the 3 months before you file the Motion.

If proof of service is not received within 63 days of filing your Petition, the court may send you a notice of dismissal. Your case may be dismissed if you do not provide proof of service within 28 days of the notice. You can ask the court to make temporary orders after you file the Petition.

You Cannot Serve Your Spouse Yourself One question you may have is, "can I serve my own divorce papers?" Oregon law does not allow for a person to serve their spouse by themselves. In fact, anyone who is named in the divorce paperwork cannot serve the opposite party.

Oregon law creates a ?short form? summary dissolution proceeding for people with very simple divorce cases. If you meet all the requirements for a summary dissolution, you can get the forms at the county courthouse or at the court's website.

You have 30 days from the date you were served with the Petition to file a written Response with the court clerk and pay the filing fee. If you don't file a Response within 30 days of being served, the Petitioner can ask the court to enter an Order of Default and then enter a judgment based on the Petition.
