A Pennsylvania Charitable Organization Registration Statement is a form that charitable organizations must submit to the Pennsylvania Department of State in order to register and obtain official recognition as a charitable organization in the state. The statement must include details such as the name, location, and purpose of the organization, as well as the names of all officers and directors of the organization. There are two types of Pennsylvania Charitable Organization Registration Statement: the Short Form and the Long Form. The Short Form is used for organizations in the process of forming and not yet operational. The Long Form is required for operational charitable organizations and includes additional information such as a description of the organization’s activities, a breakdown of the expected sources of support, and a detailed accounting of the organization’s finances. Both forms must be updated annually.
