Pennsylvania Criminal Record/Abuse History Verification is a process by which employers, landlords, and other individuals can request information from the Pennsylvania State Police regarding criminal convictions and/or abuse history. This verification can be done online, by mail, or in person. The Pennsylvania State Police provides two types of Pennsylvania Criminal Record/Abuse History Verification: Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance. The Criminal Record Check provides the individual with a criminal history (also known as a rap sheet) for the last 10 years. This includes information about arrests, charges, and convictions for crimes committed within the State of Pennsylvania. The Child Abuse History Clearance is used to check whether a person has been convicted of any offenses related to child abuse. This clearance provides information about any convictions or pending charges in Pennsylvania as well as other states that have reported the conviction to the Pennsylvania State Police. Both Pennsylvania Criminal Record/Abuse History Verifications require the individual to provide identifying information, such as name, date of birth, social security number, and current address. The individual will also need to pay a fee and submit verification forms.
