There are two types of Pennsylvania Precise for Appearance — Civil Defendant: Praecipe for Appearance — Civil Defendant in Original Action and Precise for Appearance — Civil Defendant in Further Action. The Precise for Appearance — Civil Defendant in Original Action is used by the defendant in an original civil action who has been served with a complaint or summons. The Precise for Appearance — Civil Defendant in Further Action is used by the defendant in a case that is already in progress and who has been served with a subsequent complaint or summons.
