Pennsylvania IFP for Court Reporter (Independent Freelance Professional) is a program established by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to provide court reporting services to the legal community. This program was created in order to ensure that court reporters are adequately compensated for their services and to provide a fair and open marketplace for court reporting services. Pennsylvania IFP for Court Reporter is available in two different formats: Professional Services Independent Contractor (SIC) and Certified Professional Reporter (CPR). The SIC program is designed to provide court reporters with the flexibility to work independently and to earn a reasonable rate of compensation for their services. The CPR program is designed to ensure that court reporters are adequately trained and certified to provide their services to the legal community. Both the SIC and CPR programs are available to court reporters who meet certain qualifications and requirements.
