The Pennsylvania 2017 Farmers Market Nutrition Program (445.3 KiB) is a program that provides fresh fruits and vegetables to low-income families and senior citizens at farmers markets across the state. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The program provides vouchers to eligible individuals that can be used to purchase fresh produce from participating farmers markets in Pennsylvania. There are two types of programs available, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SF MNP) and the Women, Infants, and Children Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC MNP). The SF MNP provides vouchers to senior citizens, while the WIC MNP provides vouchers to women, infants, and children who are eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Both programs are designed to increase access to fresh produce for those in need and to support local farmers.
