A Pennsylvania Application for Continuance (10.6 KiB) is a document used by the Pennsylvania court system to request a postponement of a court date in order for the parties involved to better prepare or to take care of other matters. This application can be used for civil or criminal court proceedings and must be completed in full and filed with the court of record prior to the scheduled court date. There are two types of Pennsylvania Application for Continuance (10.6 KiB): one for civil proceedings, and one for criminal proceedings. The civil version includes a section for the petitioner, respondent, and court to fill in, as well as a section for the petitioner to explain their reason for the continuance. The criminal version includes a section for the defendant, prosecutor, and court to fill in, as well as a section for the defendant to explain their reason for the continuance. Both versions require the signature of the judge to be approved.
