The Pennsylvania Burial Benefit (315.7 KiB) is a financial assistance program provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to assist with burial costs for the deceased. The benefit is available to both residents and non-residents of Pennsylvania, and provides up to $300 per person to help cover burial expenses. The program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and is available to help with funeral expenses for those who are receiving or have received cash assistance from the state. The Pennsylvania Burial Benefit (315.7 KiB) is divided into two categories: the Lump Sum Benefit and the Repayable Benefit. The Lump Sum Benefit pays up to $300 per person for funeral and burial expenses, while the Repayable Benefit pays up to $400 per person for funeral and burial expenses, but requires the recipient to pay back the benefit within six months. Both benefits can be applied for at the county assistance office, and require documentation of the deceased’s cash assistance status, the funeral home bill, and the death certificate.
