Pennsylvania 6. Certification of Motor Vehicle Judgment is a certificate of judgment issued by the Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania when a motor vehicle debt is not paid. This document is used to collect the unpaid debt from the debtor by filing it with the Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The certificate of judgment will remain in effect for three (3) years and will be recorded on the debtor's credit report. There are two types of Pennsylvania 6. Certification of Motor Vehicle Judgment: single and multiple. The single type applies to one debt only, while the multiple applies to multiple debts. The certificate of judgment will list the name of the debtor, the amount of the debt, and the date the judgment was issued. Once the certificate is filed with the DMV, the debtor's license, registration, and/or title to the vehicle may be suspended until the debt is paid in full.
