Pennsylvania Complaint for Custody is a document used to initiate a legal action in the Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania for the purpose of seeking custody of a minor child. The Complaint for Custody is used to ask the court to make a determination of legal custody, physical custody, or both, and to establish rights and responsibilities of each parent as it relates to the child. There are two types of Pennsylvania Complaints for Custody: (1) Complaint for Custody and Partial Physical Custody; and (2) Complaint for Custody and Visitation. Both types of Complaints must be filed in the Court of Common Pleas in the county of residence of the child or the county where the child is currently living. The Complaint must contain certain information, such as the names and addresses of the parties involved, the age of the child, the name and address of the child's school, and the facts giving rise to the request for custody. The Complaint must also include a proposed Order of Custody and Visitation setting forth the proposed custody and visitation arrangement.
