A Pennsylvania Precise for Writ of Revival of Judgment is a legal document used to restart the collection of a judgment that has been previously satisfied, vacated, or suspended. The Precise is used to reinstate the judgment and allow for collection of the judgment amount. The Precise is typically filed in the same county in which the original judgment was rendered. There are two types of Pennsylvania Precise for Writ of Revival of Judgment: a Precise for Revival of Judgment by Confession and a Precise for Revival of Judgment by Judgment Creditor. The Precise for Revival of Judgment by Confession is used when the judgment debtor has voluntarily confessed to owing the judgment amount. The Precise for Revival of Judgment by Judgment Creditor is used when the judgment debtor has not confessed to owing the judgment amount, and the judgment creditor must prove the debt in court. In both cases, the Precise must include the original docket number of the judgment, the amount of the judgment, the name of the court that rendered the judgment, the date the judgment was rendered, the name of the judgment creditor, the name of the judgment debtor, the address of the judgment debtor, and the name of the attorney representing the judgment creditor. Once the Precise is filed, the court will issue a Writ of Revival of Judgment, which will reinstate the judgment and allow for collection efforts to proceed.
