Pennsylvania License Suspension Appeal is a process that allows an individual who has had their license suspended by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT) to request a review of their suspension. The appeal process is available to individuals who have received a suspension for a wide range of reasons, such as failure to pay fines, failure to appear in court, and driving under the influence. There are two types of Pennsylvania License Suspension Appeals: Administrative Appeals and Judicial Appeals. Administrative Appeals are heard by a Penn DOT Hearing Officer and are used to challenge the suspension itself. Judicial Appeals are heard in a court of law and are used to challenge the underlying circumstances that resulted in the suspension. In either case, the individual appealing must provide evidence in support of their claim in order to have their suspension reversed or modified.
