The Pennsylvania Affidavit of Foreign Fiduciary is a document required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be used in probate proceedings and estate administration when a foreign fiduciary or executor is involved. This document is filed with the Register of Wills in the county where the decedent resided. It is used to prove that the foreign fiduciary has been appointed by the appropriate court in their country and is authorized to act on behalf of the estate in Pennsylvania. There are two types of Pennsylvania Affidavit of Foreign Fiduciary: a Foreign Personal Representative (FPR) Affidavit and a Foreign Executor (FE) Affidavit. The FPR Affidavit is used when a foreign fiduciary is appointed to care for the estate of the deceased in their country. The FE Affidavit is used when a foreign executor has been appointed to act on behalf of the estate in Pennsylvania. Both affidavits must be accompanied by a certified copy of the foreign court order appointing the fiduciary and other related documents.
