This system allows debtors to request a notice, in lieu of a paper notice, for any court action or other legal documents related to a debt collection case or other legal matter. The Debt system is available to all debtors in Rhode Island and can be accessed online. The Debt system provides debtors with several types of notices: • Notice of Debt Collection: This notice informs a debtor that they have been sued by a debt collector and provides details about the debt, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights. • Notice of Default Judgment: This notice informs a debtor that a default judgment has been entered against them and provides details about the debt, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights. • Notice of Motion: This notice informs a debtor that a motion has been filed in a court action and provides details about the motion, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights. • Notice of Appeal: This notice informs a debtor that an appeal has been filed in a court action and provides details about the appeal, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights. • Notice of Settlement: This notice informs a debtor that a settlement has been reached in a court action and provides details about the settlement, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights. • Notice of Default: This notice informs a debtor that a default has been entered against them in a court action and provides details about the default, the court action, and the debtor’s legal rights.
