South Carolina INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF STOLEN VEHICLE is a crime that involves the illegal transportation of a stolen vehicle from one state to another. It is a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a possible fine of up to $10,000. There are two types of South Carolina INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF STOLEN VEHICLE: (1) Direct interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle; and (2) Interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle with the intention of selling, renting, or leasing it to another person. Both cases require the offender to have knowingly transported the stolen vehicle across state lines. Additionally, the offender must be aware that the vehicle was stolen in order for the crime to be considered a felony.
